Hi Panda!
Did WSS ever put in stop loss order, or are they still doing stop limit only?

Hey CP, I reviewed the book you were wondering about. I'm not sure if its something that may really help you since I've heard you say many of the same messages before through your educational posts *and you are smarter than the average cookie, but you can read what I wrote and decide for yourself.

Rob, I didn't really put any thought into that, heh =) A month does sound like a good amount of time though. It gives everyone a chance to play around with WSS and will (hopefully) give multiple trading environments. Glad you are back home. Hope the surgery helps with your migraines!

zstock7, I don't know from experience, but it does look like they upgraded a little bit. I am guessing most will have problems with stops/limits because they don't have free realtime quotes. I always used my broker or google finance to get realtime.

Charlie G, cool. I'll go over and check it out. Thank you for the heads up (and the compliments, heh).

Thanks CP!

Another question, it says on the site, that the quotes are delayed, which I think you mentioned before.

Are the executions real time though? Meaning, lets say my real time quote service says that at 9:35am stock XYZ is at $20, and I put in order in for $20. Will I get it, or will the WSS site look at what the delayed quote is instead?

Thanks,
Rob

It looks at and charges you for the real time quote, but all it will show you is the delayed quote.

So if it says 34.50 and your broker says 34.70 and you enter a buy order, WSS will give you 34.70 (the real time price).

I don't even look at the prices on WSS. I'll use my broker or google finance (yahoo finance has real time quotes too). Then I buy or sell based on those prices becuase those are the prices WSS will give you.

Hope that makes sense =) I know it's kinda confusing (at least I had a few messups the first time I used WSS), but hopefully the prizes make up for it!

I shorted what ended up being a break out on AKAM, another auspicious start for me.

At least there wasn't slippage in my stop loss order that was triggered!

Hey CP,

Can you trade AH on that thing? It doesn't seem like you can, but I just wanted to make sure.

I wouldn't mind unloading AFL tonight.

Thanks,
Rob

I answered my own question. No, you cannot.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on there. I did okay today.
